Students need not only knowledge but also cultural behavior and life skills: General To Lam
Secretary of the Public Security Central Party Committee, Minister of Public Security General To Lam Prof., Dr., attended the opening ceremony of the 2022-2023 school year of the Police Children School under the Ministry of Public Security, on the morning of September 5, in Thai Nguyen province.
Present at the event were also Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao People's Democratic Republic to Vietnam Sengphet Houngboungnuang, Secretary of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Thanh Hai, representatives from agencies and units under the Ministry of Public Security, local agencies as well as staff and students of the school.
In the school year 2021 - 2022, the rate of students entering high school without sitting for the entrance exam is 99.54% as they had an excellent grade or won prizes at excellent student contests. Meanwhile, all of its 12th grade students passed the 2022 National High School Graduation Exam.
At the ceremony, Principal of the school Colonel Do Thi Huyen Lan stated, in the new academic year, the school has 823 students, including 386 Vietnamese, 423 Lao and 14 Cambodian ones. The school has actively renovated its educational programs, curriculum, teaching methods, while continuously applying information technology and other scientific, technological advances in teaching and learning.
On behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security, Minister To Lam acknowledged and appreciated the effort and achievements of the teachers, teachers, workers and students of the school in the school year 2021 – 2022.
The minister encouraged the staff and students of the school to overcome difficulties, attain more achievements, and successfully complete the 2022 – 2023 school year program.
He also asked the school’s Directorate to pay due attention to building capacity of its teaching staff, improve the quality of its teaching and learning, and also train students in cultural behavior, self-study and life skills.
On this occasion, Minister To Lam presented 40 sets of computers and 100 boxes of moon cakes to the staff and students of the school.
