Vietnam committed to preventing and combating money laundering
Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang chaired a meeting with a working group from the Secretariat of the Asia-Pacific Group on Anti-Money Laundering (APG) led by Deputy Secretary General David Shannon, on the afternoon of September 12, in Hanoi.
On behalf of the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang welcomed Mr. David Shanon and the APG delegation to Vietnam, saying that the Ministry of Public Security appreciated its collaboration and support for the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam in implementing the National Action Plan on Anti-money Laundering and Counter-terrorism Financing designated by the Financial Task Force on Money Laundering (FATF) from 2023 - 2025.
Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang said that the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam hopes that the Secretariat and the Deputy Secretary General personally will further support and guide Vietnam in general and the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam in particular to implement each content of the FATF Action Plan.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. David Shannon sincerely thanked the Ministry of Public Security and Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang for creating favorable conditions for the APG Working Group to work with local involved agencies.
Mr. David Shannon hopes that the Ministry of Public Security will continue to coordinate with APG in preventing and combating money laundering prevention.
He also affirmed that APG is also always ready to cooperate with the Ministry of Public Security on training its personnel and providing technical support to help Vietnam prevent and combat money laundering more effectively in the future.
