Vietnamese rescue police racing against time to find victims of earthquake in Turkey

The police rescue mission of the Ministry of Public Security with 24 members are racing against time to find victims buried under rubble in Adiyaman city, Turkey. Right after their arrival, the Vietnamese policerescue mission embarked on searching victims of the recent earthquake in Turkey.

The Vietnamese rescue mission was assigned by the local authorities to search for victims in the ruins of a building on Road 531, Adıyaman Merkez, Adıyaman, which is believed to have buried 15 people after the terrible earthquake happened on February 6.

The Vietnamese rescue missionwas divided into two teams. Team 1 is led by Deputy Director of the Fire and Rescue Police Department Senior Colonel Nguyen Minh Khuong, who directly conducts search and rescue at the scene while Team 2 was led by Chief of the Rescue Office under the Fire and Rescue Police Department Senior Colonel Phan Manh Ha, who is responsible for the deployment of equipment, vehicles and medication.

Senior Colonel Nguyen Minh Khuong said that Mission had carried out a quick survey to make a rescue plan. The search has been carried out restlessly for hours in very difficult conditions.

Members of the Vietnamese rescue mission use various measures and equipment, including specialized cameras and tools, to search for victims trapped in the rubble.

Local authorities also support the excavation, search and rescue. No matter where the rake goes, the Vietnamese rescue force follows it to every nook and cranny at the scene of the collapsed building.

Although the Vietnamese rescue police face many difficulties and dangers such as very cold weather conditions, slippery roads, language barrier and risksof large volumes of bricks and mortar pouring down, they still work with strong determination and highest sense of responsibility. They are racing against time to get the victims out of the debris as soon as possible.

Witnessing the Vietnamese police’s great effort, determination and professionalism, local authorities and people express gratitude to the Vietnamese police officersand create the most favorable conditions for them to carry out rescue work. On the afternoon of the same day, the mission approached victims in the rubble.

Earlier, on the afternoon of February 11, representatives of the Vietnamese police rescue mission and the Embassy of Vietnam in Turkey presented medical aid to the Turkish Government.
