The contest is co-organised by Hanoi’s Department of Information and Communication, Department of Education and Training, and the Vietnam Intellectual Cooperation Centre (VICC).
“Ambassador of Reading Culture” contest aims at stimulating a greater interest in reading books for enjoyment and spreading reading culture to the community, especially students of primary and secondary schools.
Contestants will have to make an essay introducing the book they love the most and answer the question that “If you are selected as an Hanoi’s Ambassador of Reading Culture in the 2017-2018 academic year, what will you do to encourage others to read more books?”.
The awards ceremony will took place on May 26. After that, the winner will join ambassadors of previous contests in realizing the idea of spreading the love with books among people.
In 2016, 27 primary and secondary school students were honored as Hanoi’s “Ambassadors of Reading Culture” in a ceremony held as part of the Hanoi Book Festival. After three months, more than 10,000 students in Hanoi participated in the writing contest to look for ambassadors of reading culture, part of the project “Let’s Read” by VICC, aiming to promote a reading culture in Vietnam.
