Vietnam hosts free film screening in Greece
PSNews-The Vietnamese Embassy in Greece in cooperation with Alkyonis Cinema in Athens held a free screening program to introduce the film “Viet Kostas”, featuring the just war of the Vietnamese army and people for national independence and freedom.

The film, directed by the Greek director Tritsimpidas, tells about the life and revolutionary career of Kotas Sarantidis, whose Vietnamese name is Nguyen Van Lap, from his being enlisted to the French Expeditionary Army in the Indo-China peninsula, to his joining Viet Minh (the Vietnamese revolutionary force) in the 9-year resistance war against the French colonialists in the battlefield of Inter-region 5, and his involvement in the construction of the Socialism in the North of Vietnam for more than 10 years. Mr. Lap was honorably admitted to the Indochinese Communist Party in 1950 at Battalion 365 in Phu Yen.
In recognition of his great contribution to State, army and people of Vietnam, he has been awarded many noble titles, including the Order of Feat of1
st class and Hero of the People's Armed Forces of Vietnam. In 1965, Kostas returned to Greece and has ever been living with his family there. But he always heads his heart toward Vietnam which he considers his second home.
The film highlights the high international spirit of Mr. Lap as well as the just and heroic struggle of the army and people of Vietnam.
