Festive atmosphere prevails at spring flower market in Hanoi

Many local people are seeking to buy peach and kumquat trees for decorations at home during the lunar New Year (Tet) holiday which is nearly two weeks away, and the spring flower market along Lac Long Quan street in Tay Ho district is an ideal place to drop by.

Kumquat and peach trees are an indispensable item for the traditional Lunar New Year festival. Such festive trees are now put on sale along Lac Long Quan street over the weekend, bringing a festive atmosphere to local residents.

The busiest scenes are recorded at Lac Long Quan flower garden where dozens of outlets are based.

People flock to the market to purchase fresh flowers and ornamental plants for their Tet decorations.

Traders have been busy carrying peach and kumquat trees to the market over recent days.

Watering trees in order to keep them fresh throughout the entire day

Many local residents head to the market early to seek their favourite trees.

Like in previous years, this year gardeners offer pomelo trees costing up to dozens of millions of VND.

Orchids are one of the most popular ornamental trees for home decorations every Tet.

The favourable weather conditions help to allow the peach and kumquat trees to fully bloom so they are ready to welcome in the Tet festival.

Mossy peach trees which are typically brought from northern mountainous are also sold at the site.
