Hanoi to host international watercolour painting exhibition

As many as 465 artists from 60 countries and territories worldwide will participate in an international watercolour painting exhibition, the largest of its kind, due to open at the Temple of Literature in Hanoi on March 16.

The judging panel of "Colors of Cultures" will include some of the world's leading watercolour artists such as, Liu Yi of China, Stanislaw Zoladz of Sweden, Michal Suffczynski of Poland, Paul Jackson of the United States, Zeze Lai of Hong Kong (China), Thierry De Marichalar of France, and Didier Brot of France.

Ahead of the opening of the exhibition, 465 watercolor paintings have been selected to be put on display at the Temple of Literature and Nhau Studio in Hanoi from March 16 to 26.

Within the framework of the exhibition, 16 international artists will also show their skills through drawing paintings at the Temple of Literature on March 16.

Both local and foreign artists will also join a drawing tour from March 18 to 20, with artworks to illustrate Vietnamese relics and people in their daily life.

The event will be organised by VietnamInAcquarello, a branch of the world's largest watercolour organisation headquartered in Italy, in collaboration with the Temple of Literature Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities, Watercolor Artist Club Hanoi, Nhau Studio, and Minh Dam Gallery, under the patronage of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Hanoi.

VietnamInAquarello is a branch of the world's largest non-profit international watercolour organisation network spanning more than 100 countries and territories worldwide. In 2014, they held an event in the country which attracted more than 1,000 applications.
