Loy Krathong Lanterns and Songkran Water Festivities to Light Up Thai Festival 2025

This year, Hanoi was chosen as one of the six metropolitan cities around the world to host the Thai Festival. This event aims to showcase the potentials of the creative economy of Thailand, while promoting the people-to-people connection through culture, tourism, and the arts.

The Royal Thai Embassy in Hanoi presents the "Thai Festival: The Pulse of Tradition" to be held at the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long, from 15:00 hrs to 21:00 hrs on March 28, 2025, and from 10:00 hrs to 21:00 hrs on the weekend of March 29 - 30, 2025. The Thai Festival in Hanoi offers a space filled with Thai culture, cuisine, Thai handicraft workshops, an outdoor cinema screening famous Thai films, and a fair and exhibition with over 50 booths displaying Thai cuisine, creative design, and health and beauty products.

Throughout the 3-day event, Hanoi residents and Vietnamese friends will have the opportunity to explore a cultural space that blends modern and traditional Thailand through many exciting activities. The activities on the stage will include the traditional dances from various regions of Thailand and the mini-concert of SISMA, a female T-Pop band. These performances will serve as a bridge between tradition and originality, allowing spectators to experience unique blends of culture right in the heart of the capital.

A special highlight of the Thai Festival in Hanoi is the demonstration of Loy Krathong through a digital platform, and Songkran Festival, one of the most vibrant and unique festivals in Asia recognized by UNESCO, famous for its exciting water splashing. The public will also have the opportunity to try traditional Thai costumes in the event and also get a chance to win big prizes such as plane tickets to Thailand by taking part in the daily raffle. 

On Saturday March 29, 2025 at 18:00 hrs, the air around the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long will be filled with love at the screening of Love Destiny the Movie, the Thai period film which will take the audience back in time on a journey to discover a long lost love.  On Sunday March 30, 2025 also at 18:00 hrs, movie lovers will get to enjoy a thriller comedy “404 Run Run”, with a surprise visit by Ter Chantavit Dhanasevi, lead actor of the movie to visit the Festival.

With the theme "The Pulse of Tradition", Thai Festival in Hanoi brings a new spirit, affirming that "Thailand's Creative Economy" is a symbol of unique creativity, nurtured from a long-standing cultural heritage while keeping pace with global trends.
