Hanoi locks down Ha Loi village that COVID-19 patient No.243 comes from

Commune People’s Committee, Ha Loi village, which has 2,700 households with 11,500 people, is the most populous village in Me Linh Commune.
The lockdown was carried out immediately as soon as cross-infection cases were detected in the village. In addition to COVID-19 patient No 243, two infected cases have newly been confirmed. Both are related to Patient No.243, who is a 47-year-old Vietnamese man residing in Son Loi village. He tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 on April 6.
The Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee asked the authorities of Me Linh Commune and Me Linh District to mobilize the local medical force, police and armed forces to blockage the area related to patient No.243.
All residents of Ha Loi village are asked to stay at home. Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung also asked the local authorities to conduct testing for all those who have direct and indirect contacts with patient No.243 in Ha Loi village.
According to Mr. Quach Si Dung, Secretary of the Me Linh Commune Party’s Committee said that the local authority has identified 67 cases of direct contact in the commune. There are still over 100 cases of indirect contact in the commune.
The COVID-19 situation in Ha Loi village has become very complicated as patient No.243 has traveled to many places in the area, meeting a large number of people in 6 out of the 9 residential quarters of Ha Loi village and two third of Me Linh commune’s villages.
