Speaking at the opening of the conference, Associate. Professor Nguyen The Ky, Member of the Party Central Committee, General Director of the Radio of Vietnam and Chairman of the Central Council for Theory and Criticism of Literature and Art, said that the conference aimed to identify and evaluate the current situation of the national literature and art from various angles of moving trends in order to seek directions and solutions to continue to develop this important sector.

70 presentations delivered by leading experts in the fields of literature and art analyzed phenomena and moving trends of the Vietnamese literature and art practice.
The participating experts also pointed out the influential factors and causes of those movement trends, and at the same time evaluated their impacts on literature and art activities.
The conference also gave proposals and recommendations to the Party, the State, relevant ministries and agencies to adopt appropriate mechanisms and policies in literature and art management.
