The Russian Center for Science and Technology on June 5 organized a ceremony to present awards to 200 Vietnamese students who won prizes in the Russian language, Mathematics, Physics and Informatics Olympiads in 2020.
The winners will receive full scholarships from the Russian Government to study at Russian universities in the coming future.
The Olympiads are important annual activities hosted by the Russian Center for Science and Technology to promote and popularize Russian language and culture in Vietnam.
This year, the Olympiads for Russian language, Mathematics, Physics and Informatics were held online for the first time in fears of the COVID-19 epidemic, attracting the participation of more than 2,000 students, showing much interest of Vietnamese students in Russia and to Russian education.
Each year, the number of scholarships granted by the Russian Government to Vietnamese students is increasing, and the figure could mount to nearly 1.000 in 2020.
According to a representative of the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training, these students will receive living allowances from the Government of Vietnam if meeting all requirements of Vietnam's scholarship regulations.
