Van Phuc village – a place where Uncle Ho works on “The Call for National Resistance”
PSNews – On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of National Resistance Day (December 19th 1946), the Public Security Newspaper would like to introduce readers the village, where President Ho Chi Minh lived, worked and wrote “The Call for National Resistance”.

Van Phuc is an ancient village along the Nhue river in Ha Dong district, Hanoi, where President Ho Chi Minh worked on “ The Call for National Resistance”, mobilizing the entire nation for the resistance war against France.
The draft consisting of only two paragraphs that was hand-written by President Ho Chi Minh bears not only great historical meaning, but also high values in Vietnamese literature. ‘The Call for National Resistance” asserts the Vietnamese patriotism and willpower. This created a starting point for all of our following victories.

Six cadres lived with President Ho Chi Minh to protect Him and assist Him with daily-life and office work. |

At the conference before issuing “ The Call for National Resistance” in this house, President Ho Chi Minh and participating officials modified some words in the historical document. “ The Call for National Resistance” was officially approved on December 19th, 1946 by President Ho Chi Minh; General Secretary Truong Chinh; General Vo Nguyen Giap – member of the Party Central Committee in charge of Defence and Mr. Le Duc Tho, member of the Standing Board of the Party Central Committee”. |
