Prime Minister sends letter praising Public Security Forces’ efforts in COVID-19 fight

• Ministry of Public Security prepares a quarantine area for COVID-19 patients
• Public Security Forces finish the survey on arrivals in Vietnam from March 7
• Minister of Public Security requests public security forces to strengthen COVID-19 prevention and control

In his letters, the Prime Minister writes that the pandemic is developing complicatedly and unpredictably in the country and the world, affecting seriously national socio-economic development and public health.

In this context, the Party, Government and National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control have worked out a number of measures to mobilize the whole political system, agencies at all levels, sectors and people to drastically fight against the epidemic.

Following the directions from the Government, the Ministry of Public Security has taken its leading role in preventing and fighting the epidemic, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc wrote.

The force has taken specific preventive measures such as controlling immigration and residency of foreigners in the country while ensuring order and safety at concentrated quarantine areas.

Furthermore, the force has well coordinated with the military and health force to detect and search for suspected or confirmed COVID-19 cases. The Ministry of Public Security also strictly handled those spreading false information about the COVID-19 situation and offences and trade frauds related to COVID-19.

"Dear comrades, you all are the frontline forces, who are not afraid of difficulties and sacrifices and who may be with COVID-19 at any times. But you are always ready to receive and complete all assigned tasks, showing your absolute loyal to the Party and the Fatherland and wholehearted devotedness to the people", Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc emphasized.

According to the Prime Minister, the Public Security Forces’ efforts and achievements have been recognized and highly appreciated by the leaders of the Party, the State and the people.

"The great efforts of the entire People's Public Security Forces deserve to be the spiritual fulcrum of the people, a firm support for the nation and all armed forces in the fight against COVID-19", Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc writes.

On behalf of the Government, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc acknowledged and appreciated the results and achievements of the entire People's Public Security Forces in ensuring security and order, contributing to the forces’ good performance in COVID-19 prevention.

"I especially praised the police officers who are directly engaged in the frontline of the fight against COVID-19, protecting the community from the lethal disease", Prime Minister Phuc notes.

As Vietnam is in a critical time to prevent COVID-19, the Prime Minister called on the forces to continue heightening vigilance and determination to soon stop the epidemic in the country. "I wish that the forces would fulfill all assigned tasks by the Party, the State and the people", Prime Minister Phuc concludes.
