State President drives tractor at ploughing festival
PSNews - State President Tran Dai Quang on February 3rd joined Doi Son village elders in holding the opening ceremony of the annual ploughing festival, which aims to bring a year of favourable weather and a bumper crop season for the farmers in the village in particular and all farmers across the country in general.

At the festival, the State President drove a tractor to kick-start the ploughing ceremony.
On the occasion of the 1030th anniversary of King Le Dai Hanh’s ploughing the field at the foot of the Doi Son Mountain, the Doi Son authorities and people has opened a three-day Ploughing Festival 2017 from February 1st to 3rd, 2017.

The three-day festival is often organized into 2 parts. The ceremonial part includes a ceremonial drum procession, water procession, praying procession, sedan chair procession, ploughing procession, and ceremony to recognize communes as the new style rural area.
The festival involves many activities, such as buffalo decorating contest; Ha Nam wrestling competition - spring 2017; agricultural product and traditional craft village fair, sport tournaments, music performances, folk games and fireworks.
