Greek President receives warm welcome in Vietnam

Vietnamese President Nguyen Xuan Phuc hosted an official welcome ceremony on May 16 at the Presidential Palace in Hanoi for Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou who is currently making a five-day visit to the nation.

Vietnam and Greece established diplomatic relations in 1975. Over the past 47 years, the relationship between the two countries has seen positive development. During the recent COVID-19 outbreak, Greece donated 250,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine to Vietnam’s pandemic fight. Last year’s two-way trade turnover reached more than US$446 million, up 33% over 2020.
