Department of Traffic Police reviews performance of tasks
PSNews - The Department of Traffic Police held a conference on June 28 in Ho Chi Minh City to review its task performance in the first 6 months of 2019.

Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Minister of Public Security, attended and delivered keynote speech at the event.
In the first half of 2019, the traffic police force nationwide has managed to fulfill all given tasks of ensuring traffic order and safety as well as social order, particularly during the Traditional Lunar New Year festival (Tet) and other major holidays and anniversaries of the country.
The traffic police force has also promoted traffic information dissemination and education to raise the public awareness of the traffic safety regulations, and organized patrols and checks to detect and handle violations of traffic regulations, which are leading causes of traffic accidents and disturbances. Additionally, the force drastically and effectively fought crimes on the road.

During the past 6 months, the country’s situation of traffic order and safety saw positive changes, with traffic accidents reducing in all 3 criteria: the number of cases, the number of injures and the number of deaths, compared with the same period last year.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son recognized and applauded the good outcomes and achievements gained by the traffic police force in the first half of 2019.
Additionally, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son asked the Department of Traffic Police to coordinate closely with relevant agencies to effectively implement all action plans and programs as well as directions of the higher level authorities.
He requested the force to launch campaigns to ensure traffic order and safety while increasing patrols and checks, and handling traffic violations, focusing on acts directly leading to traffic accidents and traffic jams, drink-driving and drug driving.
