PSNews – Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, Deputy Minister of Public Security, on August 1, led an inspection team of the Management Council of Social Insurance with Quang Ninh province.

Deputy Minister Thanh is a member of the Management Council of Social Insurance of Vietnam.
Speaking at the working session, Deputy Minister Thanh highlighted the importance of health insurance and social insurance. He also emphasized that the Party and State always attach great importance to health and social insurance.
According to reports on health and social insurance in Quang Ninh in the first 6 months of 2018, the health insurance coverage reached 93.9% of the province’s population while 223,682 people compulsorily paid for social insurance, and 4,379 others bought social insurance voluntarily.
The Social Insurance Service of Quang Ninh handed 210,789 social insurance books to workers in the province. The number of people with health insurance using medical services reached 1,105,628, a rise of 70,578 people compared with the same period last year.
The Provincial Social Insurance Service of Quang Ninh also strived to promote the application of information technology and administrative reforms in implementing policies of health and social insurance.
Concluding the working session, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh spoke highly of the provincial authorities’ leadership over the implementation of the insurance policies, and recognized the efforts and achievements of the province in this field.
He also asked relevant agencies of the province to concentrate on analyzing causes of remaining issues and propose solutions to deal with the overspending of the health insurance fund.
