Drafting Board for draft law on ensuring road traffic order and safety convenes first meeting

The event also saw the presence of Major General Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Deputy Minister of Public Security, Deputy Head of the Drafting Board.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc affirmed that following the guidance and Resolutions of the Party and the Government, the MPS has closely and effectively coordinated with other ministries and branches to draft the law on road traffic order and safety.
At the event, Lieutenant General Vu Do Anh Dung, Director of the Traffic Police Department briefed delegates on the draft law, pointing out that the law adjusts some some contents relating to road traffic safety and order, and the tasks of ensuring road security and order.
In particular, the law adjusts 7 policies, including 4 new polices, which are: organizing, directing, guiding traffic and handling road traffic congestion; handling road traffic accidents; law enforcement and legal responsibilities in detecting and handling violations; and the responsibilities of State management agencies in road traffic safety and order.

At the event, Minister To Lam answered questions and explained a number of issues raised by the delegates.
The Minister urged the Drafting Board and Editorial Board for draft law to complete the Socio-Economic Impact Assessment Report and other documents as prescribed in June.
Minister To Lam also stressed that, there is not much time left to draft the Law while the workload remains huge. Therefore, the Drafting and Editorial Boards must implement the project urgently, synchronously with scientific, reasonable methods to ensure not only the progress but also the quality of the draft law on road traffic order and safety.
