Fire prevention and fighting skills trained for teachers and students
PSNews-The People’s Committee of Dong Da district in collaboration with Fire Police Office 2 organized a training course on fire fighting and rescue for various education institutions in the district.
The training program aims to improve awareness of fire prevention and rescue and firefighting skills for education managers and teachers of various schools in the district.
Senior Colonel Nguyen Truong Son, Head of Fire Police Office 2 provided the trainees of the course with possible causes of fire and explosion in schools, saying that most cases result from violations of fire prevention regulations and negligence in using fire or other heat sources.
Preventing fire incidents and ensuring safety is of great importance to schools; as a result, every teacher should be equipped with sufficient fire prevention and fighting knowledge and skills so as to effectively respond to a certain fire incident, said Pham Thi Huong, one of the 3,000 trainees of the course. She added that the course provides trainees with useful information, knowledge and skills of fire prevention and fighting.
Senior Lieutenant Do Tuan Anh, Vice Director of the Research Center for Application of Fire Fighting Science and Technology, in charge of the firefighter's summer camp briefed education managers and teachers at the training session on the summer camp program for students from 10 years old to under 18, annually organized by the Fire Police Department and the Fire Fighting University. The summer camp has been organized since 2011 in order to educate students on how to deal with fire or explosion incidents with the motto: “Save yourselves other than wait others save you.”
During the 5 or 6-day camp, trainees will also learn how to use instant firefighting tools, such as fire extinguishers, blanket, and practice firefighting and rescue in fire and explosion incidents caused by gas leaks in the kitchen.
