Forces join fire fighting and rescue drill on Han River

According to the assumed scenario, fire started from the engine area of the cruiser because of a short circuit.

As soon as detecting the fire, the ship’s firefighting unit alerted the entire crew on board and informed relevant forces of the incident for assistance. At the same time, the crew evacuated on-board passengers, rescued victims from the fire, moved valuable assets to safer places, and deployed on-site firefighting forces to control the fire.

Shortly after being informed of the case through hotline 114, the Da Nang Municipal Fire Police sent firefighters, fire engines, firefighting boats and rescue vehicles from the Sub-Division of Fire Fighting and Rescue on River, Fire Fighting and Rescue Sub-Division No.1 and the Firefighting and Rescue Direction Sub-Division to the scene. They in collaboration with on-site forces quickly evacuated people, rescued victims and extinguished the fire.

The exercise took place exactly following the scenario, and met all requirements.

Such an exercise aims to promote information dissemination and raise the awareness and responsibility of all workers of Bao Duy Shipbuilding Company in fire prevention and fighting. It also helps forces strengthen their coordination in case of fire so as to minimize consequences of fire or explosion, contributing to ensuring security, social order and safety in the area.
