On August 8, when floodwater almost receded, the Hanoi Fire Police Department’s Division 9 deployed special function vehicles to Tan Tien and Nam Phuong Tien communes in Chuong My district to help residents to clean up trash and mud left behind.
The area had been submerged 1.5 meters deep under water after heavy downpours triggered severe floods in many parts of the district since July.
According to the unit, 20 officers and 2 field pumps were also mobilized to the flood-hit area, to help local residents clean up the roads and houses.
