The event saw the presence of Major General Dao Thanh Hai, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Municipal Police Department.
The event is organized to celebrate the 110th anniversary of Uncle Ho's departure to find the way to save the country (June 5, 1911 - June 5, 2021), and in response to the 8th Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day.
Speaking at the event, Major General Dao Thanh Hai said that, over the past time, the Party Committee and the Director Board of Hanoi Police as well as commanders of their affiliated police units have always paid attention to the reading movement and directed their units to improve the quality of their library systems.
The Hanoi Police Library currently has 12,920 titles of books, including 1,500 on politics, 1,467 on laws, 1,720 on police profession and many other subjects.
In order to promote the reading culture and reading movement among the force, Major General Dao Thanh Hai asked leaders of all local police units to raise police officers and soldiers’ awareness of the importance of books and reading, at the same time define the reading movement and reading culture as a political task of their unit.
At the exhibition, young officers and soldiers of the Hanoi Police pledged to continue to follow Uncle Ho’s self-study example, and actively improve their knowledge through reading.
