Homeland Security Department rolls out working plan for 2021

Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang, Deputy Minister of Public Security, attended and delivered a keynote speech at the meeting.

In 2020, the Department of Homeland Security deployed many measures to promptly prevent sabotage plots and activities by many reactionaries. It focused on improving the quality of its professional work while effectively solving security issues related to religions and ethnic groups as well as protecting social security, preventing terrorism.

Under the authority of the State President, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang awarding the First-class “Feat of Arms” Order to Division 6 under the Department of Homeland Security.

Additionally, the department also attached importance to Party and force building, and promoted political and ideological education for its officers and soldiers, contributing to building a contingent of qualified and capable homeland security officers, meeting the requirements of their tasks.

Speaking at the meeting, on behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang praised the achievements of the department over the past time.

He agreed with the working orientations and major tasks of the department in 2021 and stressed that the Department of Homeland Security should synchronously deploy sufficient forces and take appropriate measures to maintain domestic security in all situations. 

Especially, it should closely follow situational developments, implement resolute approaches to ensure domestic security during the 13th National Party Congress, the upcoming Lunar New Year festival and the elections of the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021 – 2026 term.

The homeland security force was asked to strictly manage domestic reactionaries to early detect and prevent their sabotage activities while advising the competent authorities to settle complicated lawsuits to avoid complex security and order situations.

The Deputy Minister also requested the Department of Homeland Security to pay special attention to building its Party organization and a contingent of homeland security officers with strong political stance, moral virtues, and a high sense of working responsibility.
