MPS leader praises Department of External Security for achievements in H1

PSNews - The Department of External Security under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) held a conference on June 28 to review its task performance in first half of 2021 (H1).

    Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang, Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security attended and addressed the event. 

    The conference also saw the presence of Senior Lieutenant General Bui Van Nam, former Deputy Minister of Public Security, among representatives from various units under the MPS.

    Reports at the conference read that, in H1, the Department of External Security proactively developed and effectively implemented plans to ensure absolute security and order for the 13th Party National Congress and the elections of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term. 

    The Department of External Security also gave advice to the Party and State leaders on many strategic issues, contributing to successful implementation of political and diplomatic policies of the Party, maintaining political stability, creating a peaceful environment for socio-economic development, expanding foreign relations, and promoting the Vietnam's position in the international arena.

    At the conference, under the authority of the Party and State leaders, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang awarded the First-class Feat of Arms Order to a sub-unit of the Department of External Security, Certificates of Merit of the Prime Minister to one team and six officers with outstanding achievements, and Certificates of Merit of the Minister of Public Security to many outstanding officers of the department.

    Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang emphasized that situational developments in the world and region are posing many challenges to the work of ensuring national security in general and ensuring external security in particular. 

    Therefore, the Department of External Security should continue to closely follow directions of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security while actively renovating their working methods, strengthening information exchange and coordination with units inside and outside the Public Security Forces so as to successfully fulfill their assigned tasks.
