MPS-sponsored housing project for poor people in Muong Nhe completed

The event was held on the occasion of the 66th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954).
By May 5, 1,149 families in need in the locality benefited from the project. Particularly, 979 local households received new houses and 170 others had their homes repaired. Although the project is based on the Ministry of Public Security’s initiative, most of the total cost of VND 55 billion was funded by commercial banks.
On behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security, Minister To Lam thanked the benefactors for their great support for the housing project contributing to hunger elimination and poverty reduction in Muong Nhe.
According to the Minister, the Ministry of Public Security, in coordination with benefactors and local authorities, will implement other housing projects for the poor in Muong Te (Lai Chau province), Van Ho (Son La province) and Nam Po (Dien Bien province).
The Ministry of Public Security, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee and the relevant agencies will call on units and agencies at all levels, local authorities, enterprises, organizations, and individuals to support localities’ efforts to build homes for the poor.
On this occasion, in order to praise units and individuals with their great contributions to the housing project in Muong Nhe district, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee awarded certificates of merit to five units and five individuals.

The Minister of Public Security awarded certificates of merit to five units and 15 individuals, and the Chairman of the Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 13 teams and ten individuals. Minister To Lam also presented ten packages of gifts to needy households in Muong Nhe district.
* Earlier, on the occasion of the 66th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2020), Minister To Lam, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Tran Thanh Man and other delegates laid flower wreaths and offered incense fallen soldiers resting in peace at the A1 Martyrs’ Cemetery. The delegation also visited the Dien Bien Phu Victory Museum and A1 Hill.
