MPS strengthens cooperation on criminal science with RoK partner

• MPS’s Institute of Criminal Science urged to improve capabilities

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Major General Le Danh Cuong, Director of the Criminal Science Institute and Mr. Choi Young Sil, Director of the National Academy of Criminal Sciences of RoK, shared the same view that the more modern society becomes, the more difficulties the law enforcement force faces in crime prevention and fight.

Social evils and crimes, particularly organized, transnational and hi-tech crimes, tend to increase, and criminals use increasingly sophisticated tricks, which requires law enforcement forces of different countries to strengthen coordination and cooperation.

Major General Le Danh Cuong hoped that, with its strong development of criminal science and technology, and experienced experts, the National Academy of Criminal Sciences of RoK will share and exchange professional expertise and experience, and provide comprehensive support for Vietnam's criminal science sector.

He also highlighted the importance of the signing of cooperation documents between the two sides, contributing to improving the effectiveness of international cooperation in crime prevention and combat and strengthening cooperation between the two agencies in particular, between Vietnam and RoK in general.

The MoU serves as a basis for the two agencies to strengthen cooperation and exchange of professional expertise, and transfer modern technology, equipment and advancements of criminal science to improve capacity of the law enforcement forces of both countries and to contribute to raising the effectiveness of the two sides’ cooperation in preventing and fighting transnational crimes as well as to protect citizens of one country in the other more effectively.
