Within the framework of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s official visit to the United States of America, Senior Lieutenant General To Lam - Minister of Public Security had talks with the US Secretary of Homeland Security John Kelly on May 30.

At the meeting, the two leaders of the Public Security Ministry of Vietnam and the US Homeland Security Ministry recognized and highly appreciated positive developments in bilateral cooperation between the two sides over the past years.

Mr. To Lam and Mr. John Kelly agreed that security cooperation of the two sides plays an important and practical role in bilateral relations between the two countries in general and between the two ministries.

The two senior officials shared the same view that, in the time ahead, the two sides will continuously intensify multisided cooperation, particularly on judicial assistance, aviation security, crime prevention and cyber security.

In addition, the two leaders also discussed measures to creat favorable conditions and ensure safety for the two countries’ citizens to come and go between the two countries, facilitating bilateral trade and people-to-people exchange.
