Minister To Lam inquires after and offers gifts to poor workers and families in Hung Yen
PSNews – Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Member of the Politburo, Minister of Public Security on February 6 visited and presented gifts to 150 poor workers and households in Van Lam district, Hung Yen province on the occasion of the upcoming traditional Lunar New Year festival (Tet).

Minister Lam was joined by Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hong, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL); Mr. Do Tien Sy, Member of the Central Party Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee of Hung Yen; Mr. Do Xuan Tuyen, Standing Vice Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Hung Yen Provincial People’s Council; and Mr. Nguyen Van Phong, Vice Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
At the gift-handing ceremony, Minister Lam sent his Tet greetings to local needy laborers and households, stating that the event was part of the various social activities to encourage and support poor people and families to overcome their difficulties in life and enjoy a happy Tet. That had demonstrated the attention and care of the Party, State, the VGCL, the Ministry of Public Security and the provincial authorities for the people in general and the poor in particular.

Minister Lam also highlighted Hung Yen province’s efforts to boost its socio-economic development and maintain security and defense over the past. The province has also balanced the structure of agriculture and industry. The province has now become a key area in terms of industrial development, attracting domestic and international investment flows. Minister Lam hoped that Hung Yen's workers will continue to work hard, support each other and unite to build their companies, factories and home villages, contributing to the development of the province in particular and the whole country in general.
Mr. Do Tien Sy expressed sincere thanks to Minister Lam for his sentiments and gifts to the disadvantaged workers and households of Hung Yen. He emphasized that the Public Security Minister’s visit and gift-offering did not only create a great encouragement to the people of Hung Yen, but also reminded Party committees, authorities and mass organizations at all levels in Hung Yen of taking better care of the local people, especially of needy workers and households.
