At the meeting, representatives of the department briefed the Minister on the homeland security force’s task performance in the first half of 2021. According to the reports at the meeting, the Department of Homeland Security seriously implemented its 2021 working plan, while the force successfully fulfilled the assigned tasks, particularly safeguarding many important political events of the country.

Addressing the event, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang spoke highly of the force's efforts and contributions to the cause of protecting national security.

Over the past time, the Department of Homeland Security has actively advised its upper levels on plans and measures to ensure the domestic security. At the same time, the department has grasped the security situations in the localities as well as directed local-level homeland security divisions to mobilize their forces to effectively fight law violations related to security, contributing to protecting national security and maintaining social safety and order at large.

Speaking at the event, Minister To Lam also praised the force’s officers and soldiers for their efforts and achievements over the past time, saying they have overcome many difficulties and challenges to fulfill their tasks.

In the time to come, the Minister asked the Department of Homeland Security to continue renovating its operational methods for more efficiency and effectiveness in fighting sabotage activities by hostile and reactionary forces, handling complicated issues related to security, and ensuring religious security.

The department should also pay due attention to the work of Party and force building, and continue renovating and streamlining the apparatus for more efficiency and effectiveness, he added.
