Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam cements ties with Mainichi Newspapers Co Ltd

PSNews - Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh underscored: “This international sport tourney holds important political significance, contributing to accelerating the traditional friendship between the two nations to a new high level. 

Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, Deputy Minister of Public Security of Vietnam received Special Adviser of Japan's Mainichi Newspapers Co Ltd, Tsuneda Teruo on October 24, in Hanoi.

At the meeting, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh thanked the Mainichi Newspapers Co Ltd. for its great contributions and cooperation activities with Vietnam in general and the Ministry of Public Security in particular.

Their supports for local people and public security forces have contributed to boosting friendship between two nations and cooperation between the law enforcement agencies over the past time.

On the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Japan (September 21, 1973 – 2018), the Mainichi Newspapers Co Ltd and the ministry will co-host a run tourney named Ekiden.

Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh underscored: “This international sport tourney holds important political significance, contributing to accelerating the traditional friendship between the two nations to a new high level.

He also affirmed that the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam will ensure absolute safety for participants during the contest.

For his part, Mr. Tsuneda Teruo thanked Deputy Minister Thanh for the warm reception. He stated that since cooperation of the two sides at the World Police Music Festival 2011 in Hanoi, the relations between the Ministry of Public Security and the Mainichi Newspapers Co Ltd have been developing steadily. 

Mr. Tsuneda hoped that the firm will continue to further cooperate with the ministry in hosting other meaningful activities in Vietnam, especially the upcoming Ekiden tourney in 2018.
