Police Department of Management of Prison, Compulsory Re-education Center and Reformatory holds Party Congress

• Former VSS heads imprisoned for economic mismanagement

Reports at the congress read that, over the past term, the Party organization of the Police Department of Management of Prison, Compulsory Re-education Center and Reformatory actively advised the Public Security Central Party Committee, the Ministry of Public Security, and the Government on policies and legal documents on execution of prison sentences and juvenile sentences.

Over the past years, under the leadership of the Party organization the police forces have basically maintained security and safety at all prisons while continuously improving the quality education for inmates and juvenile detainees. The rate of badly-behaved prisoners has decreased dramatically year after year, exceeding the targets set out by the Party Congress of the last term.

The Police Department of Management of Prison, Compulsory Re-education Center and Reformatory also proactively coordinated with local authorities, agencies and social organizations to help inmates granted special amnesties or early conditional releases reintegrate into the community.

Addressing at the congress, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung suggested that the Party organization of the Police Department of Management of Prison, Compulsory Re-education Center and Reformatory continue to direct the force to improve the quality and effectiveness of the execution of prison sentences and juvenile sentences as well as to ensure security and safety at all detention facilities in any circumstances.

He also emphasized the importance of enhancing Party building work and building a clean, strong and united Party organization of the Police Department of Management of Prison, Compulsory Re-education Center and Reformatory.

At the congress, the delegates elected the Executive Committee of the Party organization of the Police Department of Management of Prison, Compulsory Re-education Center and Reformatory for the term 2020 – 2025 and delegates to attend the upcoming 7th Public Security Party Congress.
