Counter-cybercrime force ensures absolute safety for important networks
The Department of Cybersecurity and Counter-Cybercrime under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) held a conference to review the force’s work of ensuring cybersecurity and countering cybercrime in the first half of 2022 on July 4 in Hanoi.
Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang attended the event and presented awards to outstanding groups and individuals.
Director of the Cybersecurity and Counter-Cybercrime Department Lieutenant General Nguyen Minh Chinh chaired the conference.
During the meeting, delegates listened to reports comprehensively evaluating the work results of ensuring cybersecurity and countering cybercrime in the first half.
The reports said that the force had successfully fulfilled all the tasks assigned by the MPS leadership. The quality of its task performance had been improved.
During the first 6 months, the force actively prevented and effectively addressed cybersecurity issues as well as cybercrime. The force had ensured absolute safety for major networks during national-level events.
For their excellent achievements in preventing and fighting cybercrime, a number of groups and individuals have been rewarded by authorities of all levels.
In detail, two groups and 11 officers received certificates of merit from the MPS while one group was awarded a certificate of merit by the Public Security Central Party Committee and 25 other officers were presented with medals.
At the event, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang, under the authority of the State President and Prime Minister, handed a “Fatherland Protection” Order of second class to former Director of the Cybersecurity and Counter-Cybercrime Department Lieutenant General Hoang Phuoc Thuan, and certificates of merit from the Prime Minister to groups and officers with outstanding achievements.
