Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long inspects implementation of President’s special reprieve decision
Deputy Minister of Public Security Major General Nguyen Van Long leading a delegation of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) paid working visits to An Phuoc and Phu Hoa prisons on July 26.
Representatives of the wardenship of the two prisons reported the Deputy Minister on their management of the prisons and situations there.
Reports said that the order and security in the two prisons have been ensured over the past six months while the work of re-educating inmates has been renovated in a more effective manner.
Regarding to the President’s Decision on Special Reprieve in 2022, the wardenship of An Phuoc has established a council to appraise the dossiers of early-released candidates and teams to select inmates eligible to enjoy the clemency policy.
Meanwhile, the wardenship of Phu Hoa prison deployed detailed plans to implement the State’s decision and asked all members of the staff to strictly abide by the laws and instructions on implementation of the decision.
Speaking at the meetings with key cadres from the two prisons, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long applauded the effort of the staff of the two prisons, and requested all police officers, soldiers and civilian workers at the two prisons to implement the special reprieve decision in a democratic, open, transparent manner and in line with the laws to avoid any complaints.
At the same time, the staff of the two prisons should seriously follow regulations on management and re-education of inmates as well as ensure security and safety in the prison.
The Deputy Minister also asked the staff of the two prisons to launch more emulation movements among inmates, hold more cultural, sport and art activities for inmates, contributing to improving cultural lives of inmates.
Finally, the staff of the two prisons was asked to properly implement policies for inmates and open vocational training course for them.
