PSNews – The Ministry of Public Security on November 25 held a workshop on international experiences in the field of cybersecurity administrative sanctions.

Under the authorization of the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security, Director of the Department of Cybersecurity and High-tech Crime Lieutenant General Nguyen Minh Chinh,  chaired the workshop.

Present at the event were representatives of embassies and consulates of some countries in Vietnam as well as delegates from some State management agencies in charge of cybersecurity and business organizations, domestic and foreign scientific organizations.

Overview of the event.

Speaking at the opening of the seminar, Lieutenant General Nguyen Minh Chinh emphasized the urgent need for a draft decree on sanctions against administrative violations in cybersecurity.

According to him, cyberspace poses great risks and challenges to cybersecurity in all countries. Four major issues include cyber attacks on national key information infrastructure systems and networks of large economic groups; the unauthorized disclosure, stealing and illegal trade of personal information of Internet users; the posting of bad, toxic, false and fake information on Internet; and increase in cyber crime and crime using high technology.

The Ministry of Public Security has assigned by the Government to draft a decree on sanctions against administrative violations in cybersecurity, which is the first legal document in this field.

At the workshop, participants shared knowledge and experiences in administrative penalties and violations in cybersecurity. delegates from different perspectives focused their discussion on legal systems of some countries to regulate cyber activities, domestic and international State management agencies’, organizations’ and businesses’ experience in dealing with cybersecurity issues, and other countries’ experience in crafting policies and laws on cybersecurity.
