Minister To Lam visits Da Nang Municipal Police Department, Hospital 199
PSNews - Minister of Public Security General To Lam leading a delegation of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) on January 24 paid Tet visits to the Da Nang Municipal Police Department and Hospital 199 under the MPS.
Deputy Ministers of Public Security, namely Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang, Lieutenant General Nguyen Duy Ngoc, and Chief of the MPS Office Lieutenant General To An Xo joined the delegation.
The meetings also saw the presence of Secretary of the Da Nang Municipal Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang.
Major General Vu Xuan Vien, Director of the Da Nang Municipal Police Department, briefed Minister To Lam and the delegation on the municipal police's task performance in 2021.
According to him, despite difficulties and challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Da Nang municipal police closely followed the directions of the MPS leadership and leaders of the city and proactively coordinated with relevant agencies and forces so as to successfully maintain security and social order in the city while joining the local authorities and people in fighting against the pandemic, and creating secure environment for the city’s socio-economic recovery.
Thanks to the efforts of the municipal police, the political security situation in Da Nang was maintained. Meanwhile, the crime commission rate was reduced by 10% compared to that of 2020.
They also paid intense attention to performing their function as a State agency to manage social order as well as exerted all-out efforts to carry out the National Population Database and e-ID card projects in the city.
On behalf of the MPS leadership, Minister To Lam sent Tet greetings to all police officers and soldiers in Da Nang.
Minister To Lam said that in 2022, the MPS has set a target of reducing the law violation rate by 5% against 2021. Therefore, the Minister asked the police forces nationwide and the Da Nang municipal police in particular to proactively prevent crimes, especially robbery, murder, loan sharking, and gangster-styled activities.
Regarding the drug-related crimes, in addition to cutting off drug supply lines, the Minister requested the city’s police force to strictly prevent the consumption of illicit drugs in the locality.
* On the afternoon of the same day, Minister To Lam and his entourage visited the Da Nang-based Hospital 199.
Speaking at the meeting, Minister To Lam highly appreciated the outstanding achievements and development of Hospital 199 over the past time. He also praised the medical staff of the hospital for their courage when they voluntarily went to work at epicenters of COVID-19 in Southern provinces, joining local efforts against the pandemic.
The Minister requested the hospital to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment as well as comply with the Party and the State’s policies on health care for the people, especially for those living in remote and disadvantaged areas, while attaching importance to preventive medicine and ensuring fair access to the best medical services for all people.
