Ministries, procuracy and court discuss coordination in handling temporarily suspended cases

An inter-sectoral conference to review 3 years of implementation of Joint Circular No. 01 dated June 1, 2020, regulating coordination among ministrial-level agencies in implementing articles of the Criminal Procedure Code on the management and settlement of temporarily suspended cases (Joint Circular No. 01), took place on August 8 in Hanoi.

The event was co-organized by the Ministry of Public Security, the Supreme People's Procuracy, the Supreme People's Court, the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Justice.

During the discussion session chaired by Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc, delegates focused on clarifying outstanding issues, proposed solutions to overcome difficulties and obstacles, and sought approaches to enhance coordination among parties in handling  temporarily suspended cases in the coming time.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc affirmed that the ministerial-level agencies had achieved very positive results in implementing Joint Circular No. 01, but they had still had  shortcomings.

He suggested that the ministries and agencies continue to work together closely while implementing the circular.

According to him, the Minister of Public Security gave all public security agencies and units a very comprehensive guideline on the implementation of Joint Circular No. 01.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Public Security has streamlined its organizational structure for efficiency, and is now improving working ethics and professional qualifications for public security officers, contributing to building strong, regular, elite and modernized Public Security Forces. 

Concluding the conference, Deputy Chief of the Supreme People's Procuracy Nguyen Duy Giang highly valued the close coordination, a very high sense of responsibility and efficient leadership of the ministrial-level agencies in the implementation of Joint Circular No. 01, over the past time. 

He considered that investigation authorities of the ministerial-level agencies had basically coordinated closely and effectively in managing and addressing temporarily suspended cases, despite difficulties during the period of the Covid-19 epidemic.
