Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security coordinate in implementing of Project 06

The Ministry of National Security and Ministry of Public Security held a conference on the implementation of the project on enhancing the application of population data, electronic identification and electronic authentication for national digital transformation in the period of 2022-2025, vision toward 2030 (Project 06), on the afternoon of June 29, 2023, in Hanoi.

Making the opening speech at the conference, Deputy Minister Le Huy Vinh emphasized the role and significance of Project 06 for the process of national digital transformation in general and the Ministry of National Defense in particular.

He also stated that the Army and Public Security Forces always take the lead in implementing Project 06 and digital transformation. 

So far, most of major tasks of Project 06 assigned by the Prime Minister have been carried out by the Ministry of National Defense as scheduled and with high quality.

Concluding the conference, on behalf of the Government's Project 06 Working Group, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc acknowledged the results of the implementation of Project 06 achieved by the Ministry of National Defense, and suggested that agencies and units of the Ministry of Defense use more the National Database on Population and enhance the application of the National Population Database, VNeID app at border gates and military hospitals while building more databases, developing technology as well as connecting their networks with the National Population Database to create new values.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc and Deputy Minister Le Huy Vinh agreed to assign functional agencies of the two ministries to develop a joint plan on coordination between the two sides to effectively implement Project 06.

According to the two deputy ministers, the two sides should focus on some typical tasks to do first, create coordination models to expand the coordination, strengthen coordination and exchange of information, promptly remove obstacles and difficulties in order to effectively exploit the National Population Database, and determine the roles and responsibilities of the Army and Public Security Forces in implementing Project 06, national digital transformation.
