Ministry of Public Security finishes drafting National Target Program on Anti-Drug toward 2030

 Ministry of Public Security organized a meeting of the Appraisal Council evaluating a draft report on the National Target Program on Anti-Drug toward 2030 on the afternoon of May 10, 2023, in Hanoi.

Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Chairman of the Appraisal Council, chaired the meeting.

The meeting was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of National Defence, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Ministry of Justice and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, as well as delegates from involved departments under the Ministry of Public Security.

Delivering the opening speech, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc affirmed that the draft National Target Program on Anti-Drug is a key task of the Ministry of Public Security as it was assigned by the Government to coordinate with other relevant ministries, branches and agencies to draft it.

Over the past time, relevant agencies and ministries have closely coordinated in drafting the program as well as associated sub-projects. The draft program has also been sent to all ministries, branches and agencies as well as provinces and cities nationwide for comments. 

Addressing the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc asked delegates to give comments on the draft program so as to complete and submit it to the Prime Minister.

At the meeting, delegates discussed issues related to the scope and scale, targets and related contents articulated in the program. They also underlined the importance of setting deadlines and appropriately allocating funds for sub-projects.

Concluding the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc appreciated delegates’ opinions and stated that the Appraisal Council had generally reached consensus on the draft program, and suggested submitting it to the Government and the National Assembly for approval.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc also suggested that relevant ministries and branches should carefully study relevant sub-projects so that they can begin to implement them as soon as the program is approved.
