Ministry of Public Security holds symposium on law-making plan for 2023

The Ministry of Public Security held a webinar on law-making plan for 2023 conntecting delegates from the Hall of the Ministry of Public Security to leaders from the provincial-level police departments, on the afternoon of February 10, 2023, in Hanoi. Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung chaired the event.

Speaking at the meeting, delegates basically agreed with the law-making plan for 2023 with the orientations for 2030 that a representative presented at the meeting.

At the same time, the delegates also focused and analyzed such contents as: completing the legal system on ensuring trafficorder and safety; practical experience and theoretical research applied to law making so as to best ensure security and order; results of the research on developing the Law on Fire and Rescue and legal documents in support of fire prevention and fighting.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung acknowledged and commended the police units and localities for their efforts in law-making over the past time. In the coming time, in order for the task of law-making to be more effective, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung suggested that police leaders of units and localities must be deeply aware that the task of law-making is special. Importantly, it is one of the three key tasks that have the meaning of "breakthrough" and need to focus on leading and directing.

Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung noted that 2023 is a year with a large volume of work while the Ministry of Public Security is responsible for drafting 13 law projects, 16 decrees, 116 circulars and three joint circulars, especially the Law on Forces Participating in Ensuring Order and Security At the Grassroots Levels; the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety; and the Law on Citizens’ Identity (amended), so relevant agencies and units under the Ministry of Public Security should mobilize efforts so that the Government can submit them to the National Assembly as scheduled for approval.
