The Ministry of Public Security held a conference, on March 25, 2024, in Hanoi, to review the Public Security Forces’ task performance in the first quarter of 2024.

Overview of the Conference.

The conference, which was chaired by  Secretary of the Public Security Central Party Committee and Minister of Public Security General To Lam, was held online, connecting delegates from the headquarters of the Ministry of Public Security and those from provincial-level police units nationwide.

Presenting a summary report at the conference, Chief of the Office of the Ministry of Public Security Major General Dang Hong Duc said, in the first quarter of 2024, the Public Security Central Party Committee and leaders of the Ministry of Public Security led their subordinate agencies and untis to strict implement instructions of the Central Government and the National Assembly on national security, social order and safety during the 2024 Lunar New Year, contributing to socio-economic development and foreign affairs of the country.

Meanwhile, all under-ministerial agencies and units actively took professional measures, deployed forces and means to ensured security and safety of senior Party and State leaders at important events and visiting international delegations while basically maintaining order and security, and effectively fighting crime of all during the Lunar New Year.

According to the report, 35,638 subunits and officers were rewarded by authorities of all levels for their outstanding achievements.

Concluding the conference, Minister To Lam hailed the achievements and victories that the People's Public Security Forces have recorded in the first quarter (Q1).

Regarding the key tasks for the second quarter of 2024, Minister To Lam requested all public security agencies and units to implement their approved Q2 work plans seriously and effectively.

The Minister also asked relevant agencies and units to step up the investigation of major cases under the Central Steering Committee on Countering Corruption and Negatives and cases of public concern while taking preventive measures to reduce social order crimes by 5%, and focusing forces on eleminating  hot spots of crime.

Minister To Lam also requested all agencies and units to seriously implement Project 06 and digital transformation, speed up the drafting of law projects and documents guiding the execusion of the Law on Identification and the Law on Forces Participating in Protecting Security and Order at the Grassroots Levels.
