Ministry of Public Security rolls out plan to ensure security for the 13th Southeast Asian Student Games
The Ministry of Public Security held a meeting of the 13th Southeast Asian Student Sports Festival's Security and Order Subcommittee (the Security Subcommittee) and roll out a master plan to ensure security for important conferences and events until the end of 2023, on the afternoon of May 31, 2023, in Hanoi.
Head of the Security Subcommittee and Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang presided over the meeting.
The 13th Southeast Asian Student Sports Festival is the largest regional sports event hosted by Vietnam in 2023, which is expected to draw some 5,000 athletes and sports officials from 10 Southeast Asia countries.
At the meeting, members of the Security Subcommittee, representatives from public security agencies and units as well as from the organizing panels of the sport event and related conferences thoroughly discussed difficulties and obstacles in ensuring security and safety of the sport event and related conferences.
They also gave recommendations and proposals to surmount difficulties and problems as well as pointed out key tasks for relevant units in the coming time in accordance to the real situation, and following the regulations of the Organizing Committee for the 13th Southeast Asian Student Games.
Concluding the meeting, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang requested relevant public security agencies and units to heighten their sense of responsibility, actively review their work plans, mobilize sufficient forces and means to ensure absolute safety and security for the sport events and conferences, contributing to the general success of the significant sport program in the country.
