The Ministry of Public Security held a ceremony to hand the President's decision on sending police officers to the United Nations peacekeeping mission in South Sudan, on the afternoon of August 16, in Hanoi.

On August 12, 2023, the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam signed a decision to appoint three new police officers to the United Nations peacekeeping mission in South Sudan in 2023. They are Lieutenant Colonel Bui Phuong Lan, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thu Ha and Major Dinh Manh Cuong. 

With the current deployment of the three new police officers to the UN peacekeeping mission in South Sudan, the Ministry of Public Security has so far sent seven police officers to participate in UN peacekeeping operations.

Delegates attended the ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang emphasized, the State President's decision to send the police officers the South Sudan Peacekeeping Mission demonstrates the high sense of responsibility and commitment of Vietnam in general and the Ministry of Public Security in particular to the international community.

The participation of the Vietnamese police in UN peacekeeping operations also contributes to realizing the foreign policy of the Party and State.
