Ministry of Public Security’s Project 04 benefits public security schools
PSNews - The Ministry of Public Security held a conference on December 1, in Hanoi, to review the implementation of the scheme on reforming tertialry student enrollment in public security schools (hereinafter referred to as Project No. 04) in 2022.
Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To Assoc. Prof., Dr., chaired the conference.
According to Project No.04, the Ministry of Public Security has made adjustments to the criteria and procedures for public security schools to admit fultime students.
Accordingly, 2022 was the first year the Ministry of Public Security had organized an exam separate from the national high school graduation exam; that means candidates for public security schools should take both exams and public security schools would consider their combined scores at the two exams to admit them.
According to reports delivered at the meeting, although the separate exam held by the Ministry of Public Security for the first time, it was organized in a good, transparent and fair manner while public security colleges, univerisities and academies selected qualified candidates.
At the conference, representatives from public security education and training institutions, relevant agencies and units as well as delegates discussed the results of the implementation of Project. No. 04, affirming that holding the separate exam is a sound policy of the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security as it benefits all public security educational and training institutions.
Speaking at the conference, on behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To recognized and praised the public security schools and involved units for their achievements in implementing Project 04 in 2022.
In order to further improve the quality and efficiency of education and training in general and the enrollment in public security schools in particular in the coming time, the deputy minister asked relevant agencies and public security schools should frequently study resolutions of the Party, directives of the Government and instructions of the Ministry of Public Security on conducting fundamental, comprehensive reforms of education and training in the People's Public Security Forces in line with the roadmap on renovating the national education in the new period, and continue to organize the additional university entrance exam under the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security in 2023 and subsequent years.
The Deputy Minister also emphasized that the public security academies and schools continue to attract high school students with excellent academic records, good moral qualities and good health to the Public Security Forces.
