MPS holds meeting with press and media on Vietnam’s Press Day
Minister of Public Security General To Lam hosted a meeting on June 15 in Hanoi with leaders of press and media agencies on the occasion of the Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21).
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior General Tran Quoc To, Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior General Luong Tam Quang, Chief of the MPS Office Lieutenant General To An Xo, and representatives from agencies and units under the MPS.
Distinguished guests included Minister of Information and Communication Nguyen Manh Hung, Deputy Head of the Central Information and Education Commission Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association and Editor-in-Chief of the Nhan Dan Newspaper Le Quoc Minh, Director General of the Voice of Vietnam Do Tien Sy, Editor-in-Chief of the Communist Review Doan Minh Huan, and senior journalists.
Addressing the meeting, General To Lam on behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee extended best wishes and thanks to the Central Information and Education Commission, Ministry of Information and Communication, press and media agencies nationwide and all journalists on the occasion of the 97th Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.
The Minister of Public Security congratulated the press and media agencies as well as journalists, including working in the Public Security Forces on their achievements in developing Vietnam’s press and media over the past time.
General To Lam applauded the positive developments in coordination between the MPS and press and media in the past time, saying that the two sides had effectively supported each other in implementing each other’s political tasks. Thanks to the close and effective cooperation between relevant agencies of the MPS and press and media agencies, newspapers, magazines and broadcasts reflected task performances of the Public Security Forces in a quick, true and vivid manner. Via articles and reportages, newspapers and broadcasts also helped the police detect wrongdoings in economic activities, power abuse, environmental violations, social evils.
Additionally, the press and media accompanied the Public Security Forces in the fight against fake and false information as well as wrong views of reactionary and hostile forces, contributing to strengthening national security and defense.
The Minister of Public Security thanked press and media agencies and journalists disseminated excellent security models, portrayed good examples of public security units and officers, and fairly mentioned sacrifices of public security officers in the cause of protecting national security and fight against criminals, preserving the peaceful life for the people.
At the meeting, the MPS presented National Security Medal to 10 leaders of press and media agencies for their great contribution to the cause of safeguarding national security.
