MPS to review 10 years of implementing Party Central Committee’s national defense strategy
The Ministry of Public Security’s (MPS) Steering Committee for review of 10-year implementation of the Party Central Committee’s resolution on the national protection strategy in the new situation held a meeting on April 18.
The Ministry of Public Security’s (MPS) Steering Committee for review of 10-year implementation of the Party Central Committee’s resolution on the national protection strategy in the new situation held a meeting on April 18.
Minister of Public Security General To Lam, who is also Head of the Steering Committee, chaired the meeting.
The event also saw the attendance of deputy ministers and deputy heads of the Standing Committee, namely Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang, Lieutenant General Nguyen Duy Ngoc, and Major General Nguyen Van Long among other delegates.
On October 25, 2013, the 8th Plenum of the Party Central Committee of 11th tenure adopted Resolution No. 28-NQ/TW on the National Defense Strategy in the new situation. The resolution details the Party’s national defense tasks as well as clearly defines the objectives, viewpoints, guiding mottos, tasks and solutions for the implementation of the national defense strategy in line with the new regional, global context, and international integration trend.
Speaking at the meeting, Minister To Lam affirmed the need to review the implementation of Resolution No. 28 as the world, the region and the country have seen profound changes over the past decade, placing new requirements and tasks for the realization of the national defense strategy.
Therefore, Minister To Lam asked the entire Public Security Forces, heads of public security agencies and local police units to organize meetings to comprehensively review and properly evaluate the implementation of the strategy of their units.
Minister To Lam also requested relevant units to urgently make assessments of current risks and challenges facing national security and send them to the Standing Committee to summarize a report for the leadership of the MPS present at the upcoming National Conference to review the resolution.
