New station handed to Lao police
The Ha Tinh provincial Police Department (Vietnam) held a ceremony to hand over a new station to Lao police in the border village Mac Phuong, Na Kai district, Khammouane province (Laos) on December 27.
The ceremony saw the presence of a vice police chief of Khammouane province and the authorities and people of Nakai district. Senior Colonel Pham Thanh Phuong, Vice Director of the Ha Tinh provincial Police Department, attended the ceremony.
Senior Colonel Pham Thanh Phuong appreciated efforts of functional units under the provincial police department of Ha Tinh and Khammouane over the past time, who had overcome hardships to complete the construction of the stations for Lao local police forces.
The vice chief of the Khammouane provincial Police Department spoke highly of the support from the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and Ha Tinh provincial Police Department.
The police station is part of a project to build police stations for Lao police units along the Lao-Vietnam border, under the agreement between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and the Lao Ministry of Public Security, contributing to strengthening cooperation in prevention and combat of crimes between the two sides and serving socio-economic development and raising the living standards of people living in the border areas of Laos.
Earlier, the provincial Police Department of Ha Tinh also handed 6 other new stations to Lao local police in Na Hat, Na Thon, Na Muong, Na Pe, Thong Pe (Khamkeut district, Bolikhamxay province, Laos).
To date, the Ha Tinh provincial Police Department has completed construction and handed over 7 new stations to local police of Lao in border areas, under the agreement between the two countries’ Ministries of Public Security.
