People's Public Security Forces strive to score good results in sport tourneys
Politburo member and Minister of Public Security General To Lam chaired a meeting with the participation of the Department of Party and Political Work and a number of relevant units under the Ministry of Public Security, on the morning of February 15, 2023, in Hanoi, to discuss the plan to prepare coaches and athletes of the Public Security Forces for SEA Games 32.
The summary report on the real situation of physical training and sport movements in the People's Public Security Forces, Deputy Director of the Department of Party and Political Work Major General Nguyen Cong Bay stated that the Public Security Forces had achieved many good results of physical training and sport movements in 2022.
Specifically, the department proposed the Ministry of Public Security to make Decision No. 6306/QD-BCA approving a master plan on investment and development of professional sports in the Public Security Forces until 2025, with orientation to 2030, coordinated with the Department of Organization and Personnel to advise the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security to issue Decision No. 10456/QD-BCA dated December 21, 2021 approving a project to develop a professional police football club as well as advised the Ministry of Public Security to organize successfully six major physical and sports events in the Public Security Forces and men's football and men's volleyball tourneys between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Cambodian armed forces.
The public security sport sector also selected public security sports teams to participate in 100 national and international tournaments, pocketing 482 medals of all kinds (132 gold medals, 132 silver medals, 218 bronze medals) while the Public Security Football Club won the National First Division Football Championship in 2022, and was promoted to play in the V-league 2023.
In 2023, the sector has planned to select professional sport coaches and athletes from the Public Security Forces for the period of 2023 – 2025 and Sea Games 32, and organize sports activities in the Public Security Forces.
According to the plan, the Public Security Forces will contribute two professional sport coaches and 10 professional sport athletes to the National Teams to participate in the SEA Games while 5-7 professional sport coaches and professional sport athletes of the Public Security Forces will join the national sport delegation to participate in ASIAD 19 in Hangzhou, China.
At the meeting, representatives of units proposed various measures to innovate and improve the effectiveness of physical training and sport movements in the Public Security Forces.
Speaking at the meeting, Minister To Lam emphasized that physical training and sports activities in the Public Security Forces play a very important role, as they can improve the health and strength of public security officers and soldiers and promote the image of the public security officer in society.
Minister To Lam also suggested that the Party and Political Work Department should coordinate with relevant units to early complete the project on the development of physical training and sport movements in the Public Security Forces and report it on the Public Security Central Party Committee for approval while strengthen international cooperation and exchange activities regarding physical training and sports activities.
