PSNews - The police in Lai Chau city, Lai Chau province, presented a new house to an elderly Hmong couple, named Mr. Giang A Sua (102 years old) and Ma Thi Tung (101 years old) residing in Cu Nha La village, Sung Phai commune, Lai Chau city.

According to the local authorities, the couple is classified as a poor household in the village.

The two old people had no land and had to live in a shanty hut nearby Cu Nha La cultural house, temporarily allocated by the Party Committee and People's Committee of Sung Phai Commune.

Local organizations offer gifts to poor Hmong ethnic minority households.

On knowing their circumstance, leaders of the Lai Chau City Police Station called on their subordinate officers and soldiers to raise funds for the building of a new home for them. 

Later, 15 police officers and soldiers were mobilized to build a home with a total usable area of 55m2 on the temporarily borrowed land.

The house has a steel frame, walls and heat-resistant foam corrugated iron roof, solid concrete pillars, concrete foundation.
