Police forces ensure peaceful Tet for people in Tay Giang
The grassroots-level police force in Tay Giang district, Quang Nam province deployed effective measures to suppress crime, ensure traffic safety and order during the 2024 Lunar New Year Festival (Tet), as well as to mobilize people to comply with legal regulations related to the fireworks ban.

Eight out of the 10 communes in Tay Giang district of Quang Nam province have national borderlines. Since the re-establishment of the district in August 2003, thanks to the sound leadership of the Directorate of the Quang Nam Provincial Police Department, the District Party Committee, the District People's Committee and the support of other authorities and the local people, no violation of the law related to use and trade fireworks has been recorded in Tay Giang district.
To continue attaining that remarkable achievement, the grassroots-level police force is actively implementing effective measures to suppress crime during the 2024 Lunar New Year Festival (Tet) as well as to mobilize people to comply with legal regulations on not using or trading fireworks.
The district police have coordinated with the local border guard force to check people and vehicles passing through the Tay Giang - Ka Lum sub-border gate and block illegal border entrances.
At the same time, the Tay Giang District Police Station often conduct surprise inspections of businesses in the district. To date, 100% business and trading establishments in the area have been inspected. The police also encourage local businesses to commit to complying with legal regulations related to the trade and use of firecrackers and regulations on fire prevention and fire safety.
Tay Giang is home to many ethnic minorities, a large majority of the Co Tu people. In Co Tu culture, reputable people, village elders and village chiefs have a particularly influence on the community.
Therefore, to prevent people from firing firecrackers during the Lunar New Year, Tay Giang district police visit and work with village elders, village heads, reputable people, and organized public meetings to disseminate legal regulations.
Through the meetings, Co Tu reputable people empathize the police, understand more about the police work and support the police forces in explaining and mobilizing people not to traffic and use firecrackers for the peaceful and safe of the local people.
In addition, the local police have taken various creative approaches to ensure traffic order and safety; as a result no serious traffic accident has happened for more than 3 consecutive years in Tay Giang district.
On the occasion of the 2024 Lunar New Year festival, the Tay Giang District Police Station has mobilized its forces and means to carry out more patrols and checks on local routes so as to promptly detect and handle violations of the traffic law.
To reduce traffic accidents involving young people, the district police have coordinated with the local education sector to organize many public meetings and events to disseminate traffic laws to students in the locality.
Despite many difficulties and hardships, the Tay Giang police have excellently completed their tasks, sparing no effort and silently devoting their time and energy to ensure a peaceful Tet for the local people.
