Police forces join people brace for Typhoon No. 1
PSNews - Facing complicated movement of Typhoon No. 1, local police forces have proactively taken measures to respond to the typhoon, with a view to minimizing loss of life and property caused by the typhoon.
* In Quang Ninh
On the morning of July 17, the Waterway Police Office under the Quang Ninh Provincial Police Department mobilized 03 ships and 13 canoes to call on commercial ships, boats and other watercrafts to take shelter.
Quang Ninh Waterway Police Unit immediately called on ships, boats to take shelter. By the noon of July 17, nearly 1000 ships and boats moved to shelters in Ha Long Bay.
* In Hai Phong
On July 17, Bach Long Vi police officers and local authorities directly inspected the situation, provided fishermen on Bach Long Vi island safety guides, and helped them to take typhoon-responding mesures.
On the afternoon of July 17, 2023, the Hai An District Police Station Youth Union also deployed 100% of its members to provide support for the authorities and people in Trang Cat Ward to promptly respond to the coming devastating typhoon.
On the same day, the Cat Hai District Police Station and Waterway Police Office under the Hai Phong Municipal Police Department mobilized their officers to provide fishermen with typhoon warnings as well as help them to anchor ships and boats in shelters.
